Eka Ventures is an early-stage venture fund integrating impact investing into mainstream venture capital by backing sustainable and health-focused consumer businesses.
The seed round was led by Eka Ventures to support technology development and platform expansion.
"If you’ve ever bought a house in the UK, you’ll know exactly how painful the conveyancing process can be. Something that should take a matter of days can drag on for months, leaving you unsure when – or even if – you’ll get the keys to your new home. These delays are completely avoidable. We built Conveyd to remove unnecessary back-and-forth, so home buyers get complete purchases in weeks rather than months – in a way that doesn’t make them want to tear their own hair out."
The round was led by We Venture Capital and Cross-Border Impact Ventures to fund the global commercialisation of its liquid biopsy technology.
"Having developed blood-based proteomic tests for lung cancer for over two decades, I appreciate the difficulty of detecting cancers early through liquid biopsy. Convinced that OXcan’s unique approach can address this clinical need, I feel privileged to join the team. Together, our plan is to offer this novel technological approach to large markets worldwide to start a new era of early detection and improve patient outcomes."
— Heinrich Roder, Senior Vice President of Research and Development
The oversubscribed round was led by Heartcore Capital with backing from Eka Ventures and angel investors.
"It was a delight to experience such overwhelming interest from investors enthusiastic about the future of flight-free travel when raising our Series A. I’m thrilled that in Heartcore and Eka we’ve found partners who believe in the joy of journey-based holidays and the potential of JourneyAI to change travel for the better,"
JamJar leads the £5m round to help the running coaching application develop artificial intelligence capabilities.
"I felt a huge sense of privilege to get to work with up to 40 private clients at a time before launching Runna, helping them to be healthier and happier. Now having been able to build a service to deliver a better experience, at a tenth of the price, to over 50 thousand people is hard to get my head around."
The funding round was led by Eka Ventures and will support international studies and product development.
"Existing data suggests that current approaches fall short at accurately detecting and localizing the deadliest cancers that desperately need to benefit from a blood test. At OXcan, we are using state-of-art and unbiased high-throughput proteomics approaches to examine hundreds and thousands of proteins in blood samples from largest studies of their kind for the first time. Combined with proprietary and tailored machine learning approaches, the results are products that fully integrate with existing care pathways and can detect and localize the deadliest cancers with unprecedented sensitivity and specificity."
The investment round was led by Eka Ventures with participation from notable athletes and institutional backers.
"Everyone at Runna is beyond thrilled with the progress in such a short space of time, and we have to thank our users and investors for their unwavering support. We’re determined to spread the benefits of running with as many people as possible by making it as accessible as we can to people of all backgrounds, body types and fitness levels."
Intact Ventures led the Series A round alongside Ingka Group to help the insurer scale its customer base and workforce.
"This latest Series A funding round comes at an exciting time, we’re growing very quickly which has been attractive to both existing and new investors."
The seed round was led by Index Ventures with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex, and Dylan Field.
"It’s all very well to ask people to ‘shop responsibly’, but the reality is that consumers only have the choices that businesses offer, and it’s not fair to put the burden on individuals to constantly sacrifice cost and convenience."
The funding round was backed by Mundi Ventures and Eka Ventures.
"We’ve continued to grow strongly throughout the pandemic and that has been attractive for both new and existing investors. Our tech platform means we can grow our customer base rapidly without having to build an army of customer service agents. That said, we’ve got ambitious growth plans, so we’ll be doubling our headcount in the next 12 months to support that."
The seed funding round was led by Samaipata with participation from Sova VC, Fuel Ventures, Tekton Ventures, and Eka Ventures.
"Geomiq is perfectly positioned at the forefront of a digital revolution within the manufacturing industry, and has an extremely talented and mission-driven team looking to solve a problem they faced personally as engineers. The team here at Samaipata are thrilled to support Geomiq on their quest to build the world's best and most sustainable manufacturing supply chain."
