Runna operates a personalised running coaching application that tailors training plans based on individual user capabilities and schedules. The platform combines advanced technology with structured workouts designed by experienced coaches.

Runna has secured £5m in a seed follow-on funding round led by JamJar, with additional participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex, and Creator Ventures. The company plans to direct the new capital towards developing and training sophisticated coaching algorithms incorporating artificial intelligence.

Founded in 2021, the running coaching platform has previously raised capital through crowdfunding and institutional backers, bringing its total funds secured since inception to over £8m. The application currently serves hundreds of thousands of users across more than 180 countries.

The latest injection of capital follows earlier backing from high-profile athletes and angel investors, positioning the business for further international reach and product enhancement.

From the founder

"I felt a huge sense of privilege to get to work with up to 40 private clients at a time before launching Runna, helping them to be healthier and happier. Now having been able to build a service to deliver a better experience, at a tenth of the price, to over 50 thousand people is hard to get my head around."
