"The life insurance industry is ripe for transformation. For too many years, life insurance has focused solely on paying out a lump sum upon death. It is now time to reimagine the very nature of life insurance by putting ‘life’ first, and inspiring members to live their best lives every single day, using insurance as a tool to enhance their physical, mental and financial wellbeing,"
The Series B financing was led by Index Ventures with backing from BMW i Ventures, Unbound, Latitude and Marchmont Ventures.
"For half a century, inefficient offline processes have led to bad deals and a bad experience for both car sellers and car dealers. Motorway has fundamentally changed a broken experience where everyone ends up dissatisfied – and we’ve transformed it with a superior online experience where everybody wins. Cutting out the middlemen leaves both the consumer and car dealer with a better deal, all from home and without the stress. Our incredible growth so far is testament to our focus on delivering more value through technology – and this investment will provide us with the fuel to take Motorway to the next level."
March Capital led the Series C round, which values the enterprise security firm at $500m and brings total funding to over $120m.
"The security of our operations and data is paramount to the success of Arm, and we’re committed to empowering our people to make sound security decisions while doing their jobs effectively. The concept of human layer security is becoming a critical part of doing business today. Tessian enables us to reduce risk across the organization by providing valuable tools and knowledge to not only stop threats like advanced phishing attacks and accidental data loss, but also continually improve the security behaviors of our teams as the threat landscape evolves."
The financing round was led by Eight Roads Ventures to support product development and international growth.
"We want to bridge the divide between big brand products that focus on affordability and efficacy, and smaller eco-friendly brands that are more expensive and less effective"
General Catalyst led the round, which will finance the company's international growth strategy and technology scaling.
"We’ve been extremely fortunate in 2020 to accelerate our growth, strengthening our expertise in technology-enabled, customer-centric flower gifting. We’re privileged to have played our part in keeping people connected in this difficult period, and I’m proud of our growing team for scaling our operations whilst maintaining the signature thought and care we put into every order. With this new backing from General Catalyst and Index we start 2021 with renewed energy to pursue our vision of becoming the world’s leading and most loved flower company."
