The University of Strathclyde in Glasgow is home to around 25,000 students and 4,000 staff, placing useful learning and real-world impact at the heart of its activities.
Stuart manages commercialisation infrastructure at the University of Strathclyde, having previously developed spin-out companies there. His background includes business development at Scottish Borders Enterprise and accountancy training at Touche Ross.
Anne brings investment and higher education experience, having previously worked at the Energy Investment Fund within Scottish Enterprise and the University of Strathclyde.
The oversubscribed round was led by DSW Ventures with backing from Scottish Enterprise, SWIM Capital and the University of Strathclyde.

The funding round was supported by One Planet Capital, SFC Capital, Scottish Enterprise, and the British Business Bank.
"My main motivation was the huge opportunity to make an impact when I realized the potential of my idea. This started out as a dissertation on wind turbines and realized this could be so much more. I want to make a difference. We need clean energy fast to meet our targets we are behind on. Hence my inspiration to design a wind turbine that focused on lowering costs, improving logistics and eliminating the need for cranes and large teams to install and maintain wind turbines."
SFC Capital led the round with backing from the University of Strathclyde and Scottish Enterprise.

Eos Advisory led the Series A round alongside new and existing backers to fund international expansion and commercialisation.

This is very much aligned with Eos’ approach to investing in innovation that has the potential to impact positively in people's lives. More recently the team at Dxcover have focused on building a world class international team on both sides of the Atlantic. This funding round is very much about commercialization in both the UK and the US."
The financing round includes contributions from Deepbridge Capital, Scottish Enterprise, SIS Ventures, Thairm Bio, and the University of Strathclyde to support clinical trials and commercial expansion.

Any delay in identifying the correct antibiotic for treatment can put lives at risks and huge pressure on clinical decision making, especially when the antibiotic sensitivity data that Microplate Dx can produce in an hour or less compared to the current approach that can take two days using existing techniques."
