Northern Light Microscopy is a Glasgow-based University of Strathclyde spinout that develops advanced benchtop microscopy systems designed to make high-resolution biological imaging more accessible and affordable for laboratories.
Northern Light Microscopy has secured over £1m in an oversubscribed pre-round to accelerate the commercialisation of its advanced microscopy technology. The financing was led by DSW Ventures, with participation from Scottish Enterprise, SWIM Capital and the University of Strathclyde.
The capital will be deployed to scale production, support early customer deployments, and drive further development of the company hardware and LINK imaging software. The funding follows validation of the company benchtop system, which aims to provide cost-effective super-resolution imaging capabilities to laboratories previously priced out of such technology.
The company is targeting regulatory approvals ahead of commercial sales, with international expansion slated to follow initial deployments.
