The University of Strathclyde in Glasgow is home to around 25,000 students and 4,000 staff, placing useful learning and real-world impact at the heart of its activities.
The funding round was led by Mercia and will support the firm in progressing its multi-cancer diagnostic programmes.
"Worldwide, 26,000 people die from cancer each day. Early detection is critical for effective treatment, but many cancers go undetected for too long. This funding is another significant step forward for ClinSpec Dx in our mission to detect cancer earlier and help to increase patient survival and quality of life."
The investment round was led by Foresight Group and Williams Advanced Engineering to support international growth and manufacturing scale-up.
