Sure Valley Ventures is a venture capital firm focused on investing in early-stage artificial intelligence software companies positioned to make a global impact.
Northern Gritstone and Mercuri co-led the pre-seed round to help the Newcastle-based artificial intelligence firm commercialise its technology.
"We’re at a pivotal moment for AI with adoption continuing to accelerate alongside sustainability and cost concerns. Our logic-based AI offers a new solution for those that want and need high-performing AI that is faster, more energy efficient and more explainable than what’s currently available via neural networks. This funding comes at a time when we’re ready to significantly speed up our product development and will enable us to bring our first product to market later this year."
Boost Capital Partners led the seed round with participation from multiple European and American investors to fund product expansion.
"AI is transforming how people and businesses operate, and delegating work to AI is the future. Capably is leading this shift, and we’re excited to back them in redefining the way work gets done."
Sure Valley Ventures led the seed round to help the artificial intelligence company expand its engineering and business development capabilities.
"Vizgard is tackling the growing need for time-critical visual intelligence and precision camera automation in security and defence solutions. Their technology addresses important AI reliability concerns through a robust ‘systems approach’, identifying threats that would have been missed and allowing stronger performance in new environments. With the rapidly growing demand for AI in Defence and Security, and the team’s deep domain expertise, we believe Vizgard has the potential to become a global leader in AI vision automation."
The funding round was led by artificial intelligence specialist Sure Valley Ventures.
"In my experience, education leaders remain sceptical that strong staff retention and wellbeing in schools can coexist with high standards of marking and feedback. Through our work at stylus we intend to prove this a false dichotomy. I have been working on this problem space since I reluctantly left the classroom for a life without marking 10 years ago, but it’s taken until this point for a solution to be truly viable. Although I made some headway in the past with products that amplified the effort teachers spent marking, what we really lacked was a way of making decisions about students’ work on behalf of their teachers."
The seed round was led by Sure Valley Ventures with participation from Ada Ventures, Heartfelt, and Atlas Ventures.
"At PHINXT, our mission is to revolutionise the logistics industry with our cloud-based platform that seamlessly integrates any type of robot, enabling them to collaborate and coordinate in a shared space without the need for a centralised server. Our robot-agnostic platform supports warehouses at every stage of their automation journey, providing unparalleled flexibility and efficiency. We aim to be the gateway for the logistics industry, facilitating the integration of these robots into operations and helping businesses achieve a rapid return on investment. By accommodating different types of robots, we ensure that warehouses can optimise various tasks, from picking to transportation, enhancing overall productivity."
The pre-seed round was led by Sure Valley Ventures to support international expansion and team growth.
"At Vortex IQ, our mission is to simplify and enhance the e-commerce workflow through innovative AI solutions. By providing e-commerce teams with cutting-edge productivity tools, we help businesses to prioritise their customers, enhance efficiency, and drive profitability."
The oversubscribed round was co-led by Mercuri and Sure Valley Ventures to expand the engineering and enterprise sales teams.
"Ittybit was created to address the pain we felt handling large videos in our previous companies. We built the media tools we wished we’d had access to, and are making them available to all developers, because robust media workflows shouldn’t be so expensive or complicated that only the largest tech companies can access them."
The funding round was led by Elefund with participation from multiple venture firms to support expansion into the metaverse.
"We're delighted to have secured this substantial funding round which signifies the start of Admix Phase 2. This funding round validates the incredible hard work which the entire team has worked so tirelessly to reach. We see the internet entering a new stage: Web 3.0 or the metaverse, characterized by real-time 3D interactions and a new creator economy, spearheaded by the video games industry. We are establishing In-Play as the monetization layer for gaming and the metaverse. While many players in our industry are essentially agencies, Admix is building critical infrastructure for creators to monetize their content in the best way possible."
The funding round was led by UTokyo Innovation Platform and will be used to expand operations and accelerate product development.
"Scenes we know from films, from Iron Man to Star Trek, are becoming closer to reality than ever. At VividQ, we are on a mission to bring holographic displays to the world for the first time. Our solutions help bring innovative display products to the automotive industry, improve AR experiences, and soon will change how we interact with personal devices, such as laptops and mobiles."
