The leisure-focused investor backs the guest Wi-Fi provider in its first technology sector investment.

"We are delighted to partner with the team at Wireless Social. Our investment enables ongoing tech innovation, including the development of a new-to-market platform designed to simplify brand-sponsored email and SMS campaigns in real time, when consumers are in the venues. This platform, branded Hedgehog, is a key sales-enabled marketing tool and meets the high demand we see from a significant range of leisure and hospitality brands. Our support will also help create a number of key jobs as the Chorley-based tech firm expands its Sales, Product Development, Customer Support, and Marketing departments. Wireless Social has expansion plans for the US market where there is a significant opportunity for their hospitality-focused service and transformative Hedgehog solution."

The investment from BGF will support the rollout of the metra liver preservation system in the United States.

"This investment is key for 2 reasons. First, the funding will be critical in allowing us to execute our commercial plans in the US. Secondly, having BGF at the board table will ensure we leverage its impressive track record of successfully guiding growing businesses to achieve their full potential. Ultimately this is great news for all our stakeholders including current investors, employees and patients requiring a lifesaving organ transplant."

The seed round was backed by Amadeus Capital Partners, Delin Ventures and Kindred Capital to fund the commercial launch of its manufacturing technology.

"Hundreds of clinical trials and a few recently marketed products have shown the revolutionary potential of CGTs. But this potential will never be realised unless we can remove the current bottleneck around scalable manufacturing. Ori Biotech has developed an innovative platform technology to facilitate scalable manufacturing that could eventually enable millions of patients to get access to the next generation of personalised medicines,"

"MiAlgae has essentially taken a by-product from one industry and turned it into a solution for another industry. Through the application of biotechnology, MiAlgae is finding solutions to feed the world’s population, and with the global aquaculture industry set to double in size in the next ten years, this is a very promising business indeed."

The London-based esports betting platform raised the funds to support its platform development and growing user waitlist.

"We have been in an Alpha for half a year now and are already seeing significant turnover. We are building everything in-house and are keen to offer the best experience for esports fans in the market. Customers have been loving the platform and we in turn are fine-tuning the product specifically for them. Every day, our waitlist for access keeps growing and we are extremely pleased with the way the product been received so far."
