Manchester-based health technology firm Pill Connect has raised £510k in a Series A follow on funding round. The investment was backed by Jonathan Milner alongside Catapult Ventures and Shallcross Partners. The capital will be allocated towards finalising design, electronic and software development to secure regulatory clearance in Europe and the United States ahead of a commercial rollout.
The funding follows successful placebo trials of the electronic smart bottle cap system, which dispenses medication following app prompts and provides clinicians with detailed adherence records. The technology aims to tackle medication non-compliance issues that contribute to high healthcare costs and trial complications.
