Ada Ventures led the Series A financing round to support team expansion and product development.
"We believe that within the next 5 – 10 years ‘impact investing’ will just be called ‘investing’. It’s the only way our generation wants to invest, and because of that they’re driving industry-wide structural change. We think this change has only just started, and within the next few years it will completely transform financial services and how people think about their money"
The seed round was backed by Sir Rod Aldridge and Eddie Jordan to support product development and international growth.
"We also devoted a lot of time to both the functionality and design of our bike, aesthetically upgrading the utilitarian style of the traditional exercise bike. The support from our investors will allow us to advance our growth, expand our product offering, and enable us to innovate even further."
The Series H round was led by Durable Capital Partners and Fidelity Management and Research Company to support ongoing expansion.
"At Deliveroo we are always focused on developing the best proposition for consumers, riders and restaurants. This investment will help us to continue to innovate, developing new tech tools to support restaurants, to provide riders with more work and to extend choice for customers, bringing them the food they love from more restaurants than ever before. We are really pleased our shareholders see the opportunity and growth potential ahead of us."
"People are no longer happy to wait around for deliveries, and there is strong demand for a more efficient service. Weezy customers love the friendliness of our team, the quality of our produce, and our quick, accurate delivery times. This new funding round will allow us to expand the team and our footprint to bring Weezy to more customers across the UK."
