Apex Rides is a connected fitness platform transitioning from proprietary hardware to an open ecosystem. Its software app connects with any Bluetooth-enabled exercise bike.

Apex Rides has secured £3m in seed funding to accelerate its growth and market presence. The investment comes from high profile figures including Sir Rod Aldridge and Eddie Jordan. The capital will be directed towards enhancing hardware and application development, expanding content creation, and driving international expansion.

The company launched its direct to consumer proposition during lockdown and has experienced strong demand, generating 2,500 pre orders during its initial campaign. By partnering with spin studio Boom Cycle, the firm offers custom UK class content aimed at providing a more inclusive and affordable alternative to established American competitors in the home fitness sector.

From the founder

"We also devoted a lot of time to both the functionality and design of our bike, aesthetically upgrading the utilitarian style of the traditional exercise bike. The support from our investors will allow us to advance our growth, expand our product offering, and enable us to innovate even further."
