The funding round was led by Dorset Business Angels to support the rollout of a new car trading platform.
"At Honk Honk we decided that we wanted to go full end-to-end cycle, not only allowing the general public/consumers to sell their cars to dealers but also allowing dealers to sell their inventory back to the general public. We also arrange finance and provide buying and selling support and home collections and deliveries. We launched on 1st September 2023. The launch has been staggered, initially launching just the selling part of the journey of cars to dealers. We plan to launch the buying part of the journey (dealers to consumers) in January 2024."
BlackFin Capital Partners led the Series B round, which will fund product development and market expansion.
"This financing round will enable us to double down on our mission of providing financial advisors with cutting-edge technology that simplifies their workflow, elevates the client experience, and ultimately improves financial outcomes for millions of people in the UK. I’m truly delighted that our mission has resonated so deeply with financial advisers and our valued investors. The UK’s financial advice market represents a staggering £1 trillion in AUM, and we aspire to rank among the top three providers of technology and Model Portfolio Services for IFAs within the next three years."
The funding was backed by Mercia Ventures, the Midlands Engine Investment Fund and private investors.
"Having grown up in a digital world, today’s students are more likely to make decisions based on reviews rather than marketing material. StudentCrowd is the only platform of its type that offers reviews from verified students and covers universities, courses and accommodation. The company has huge potential for growth. This investment will enable it to establish its position as the leader in the UK market and prepare it for international expansion."
Singular led the Series A investment alongside existing backers Credo, Playfair, and Techstart Ventures to fund team expansion and international growth.
"If we are going to deliver the energy transition required in time to meet global climate goals, we need to completely rethink worldwide energy infrastructure – transforming what we have, but also building considerably more, and doing so at an unprecedented pace. The best way to do that is to work smarter, not harder – as highlighted by the UK Electricity Networks Commissioner, automated infrastructure planning processes, such as those that we provide, have a big part to play. But the impact of technology needn’t be limited to the planning stage – we’re excited to bring its transformative power to developers throughout the development process as we continue to grow with this new funding."
