An angel investor network providing private equity opportunities to high net worth and sophisticated investors, connecting them with early-stage businesses in the south of England.
Don serves as chairman of Dorset Business Angels and holds non-executive chairman roles across several organisations, including SailTies, EIMS, and Content Ignite.
Max serves as a director at Dorset Business Angels and manages Jaguar Consulting. He also brings advisory experience from roles at Vistage International and Vapouriz.
The funding round was led by Dorset Business Angels to support the rollout of a new car trading platform.
"At Honk Honk we decided that we wanted to go full end-to-end cycle, not only allowing the general public/consumers to sell their cars to dealers but also allowing dealers to sell their inventory back to the general public. We also arrange finance and provide buying and selling support and home collections and deliveries. We launched on 1st September 2023. The launch has been staggered, initially launching just the selling part of the journey of cars to dealers. We plan to launch the buying part of the journey (dealers to consumers) in January 2024."
The Bristol health and safety technology firm secured backing from angel investor networks to fund team expansion and product development.

Dorset Business Angels provided a major share of the capital required for the rollout.
"The cash-for-car market has grown massively but often comes in for criticism in the consumer press for allegedly underpaying on the true value of consumers' cars. We all know that dealers also need protection from unscrupulous sellers and misleading vehicle descriptions."
