The pre-seed round was co-led by Laidlaw Scholars Ventures and APEX Ventures.
"Recent advances in artificial intelligence are generating novel ways to interpret multiomic data. I am excited to lead CardiaTec’s technology strategy to establish a new paradigm for understanding the pathophysiology of cardiovascular diseases."
The seed round was backed by returning angel investors and the Women Angels of the North Syndicate.
"This is a really exciting investment for us. The money will allow us to build on the foundations we have put in place and grow our business by bringing in new team members with skillsets that will strengthen our existing operation. It has been fantastic to see investors from the pre-seed round re-investing for a second time. They are very supportive in seeing us achieve our mission to accelerate research and improve the outcomes for people with rare cancers."
Archangels led the financing round to support the development of the company cell analysis platform.
"On behalf of our Board and employees I would like to thank our investors for their continued support of Cytomos. We now have the growth capital required to advance the development of our novel process analytical technology platform to the next phase of prototype evaluation with our strategic partners. This is an important milestone in the journey to deliver our mission to enable the development and manufacture of life saving biologic therapies"
The Cambridge-based biotechnology startup has closed a £2.4m round backed by investors from the UK and US.
"We welcome our new investors and thank our existing investors for their continuing confidence in Spirea. With our novel approach to building ADC therapeutics, we aim to radically improve the treatment options for patients with hard-to-treat cancers. Having shown the flexibility and strength of our technology, we look forward to the next exciting stage in the development of Spirea’s ADC pipeline and to building significant strategic partnerships."
The round was led by F-Prime Capital to support the development of novel therapeutics for disordered proteins.
"By taking a rigorous and computer-driven experimental physics approach to analysing proteins, we can go beyond classical drug discovery approaches and observe protein behaviour that algorithms like AlphaFold cannot. This new funding will allow us to further advance our platform and support the investigation of the disordered protein universe towards developing drugs of the future,"
