Edinburgh-based life science business that has created a proprietary cell analysis platform called Cytomos Dielectric Spectroscopy.

Cytomos has secured £1.6m in additional seed funding to progress the development and qualification of its novel cell analysis platform, Cytomos Dielectric Spectroscopy. The financing round was led by existing backer Archangels, with participation from Scottish Enterprise and Old College Capital.

The capital will be used to grow the team, deliver the next generation sensor and analytics for real-time cell monitoring, and expand customer engagement. This funding follows a productive period for the company involving prototype field testing and the securing of a key US patent for its technology.

The firm aims to address unmet needs in the biopharma sector by providing a portable, low-cost, and scalable alternative to traditional cell analysis methods, helping to streamline drug development, vaccine production, and cell and gene therapy manufacture.
