BGF and Tencent join existing shareholders to support the biotechnology company in advancing its drug development programmes.
"We are delighted to have significantly added to our Series A financing, which we see as a strong validation of both our technology and our progress to date. I would like to thank Tencent and BGF for their belief in our potential, as well as all our existing investors for their continued support."
The financing round was led by Sofinnova Partners, F-Prime Capital, Digitalis Ventures and Cambridge Innovation Capital.
"We’re delighted to have raised this Series A with such high-quality investors whose amazing networks and shared vision will help us deliver highly differentiated TCR cancer therapies. TCR therapeutics are very much at the dawn of their potential. We intend to replicate the success of therapeutic antibodies but build on this in a new dimension, by using the targeting domains of TCR receptors to take advantage of their much greater specificity for cancer cells compared to normal cells. The same logic can be used to target immunosuppressive biologics to tissues impacted by autoimmune disorders."
The Series C financing was led by Advent Life Sciences with backing from several new and existing institutional investors to accelerate product development and scale operations.
"We are delighted to partner with Proximie and a world class group of investors as the company expands its global footprint and product capabilities. The company is a perfect fit for our ethos of backing best-in-class innovative life sciences businesses that have the capability to positively impact human health and healthcare delivery in paradigm changing ways."
The Series A round will fund the continued development of the company platform for hard-to-drug targets.
"We are advancing this technology and its application to the hit discovery, hit-to-lead and lead optimization processes of small molecule drug discovery."
Spectrum Equity led the Series B round to support global expansion and product development.
"Prior to the pandemic, the hospitality industry had been open to gradually adopting newtechnology. Our business experienced significant growth through 2020 despite the industry headwinds, but 2021 has been a breakthrough year for us as the recovery accelerated the pace of technology adoption. We anticipate unprecedented opportunities and growth as the recovery continues,"
