CardiaTec Biosciences has secured £1.4m in pre-seed funding to advance its artificial intelligence platform for cardiovascular disease target discovery. The financing round was co-led by Laidlaw Scholars Ventures and APEX Ventures, with participation from Crista Galli Ventures, o2h ventures, and Cambridge Enterprise.
Cardiovascular conditions remain a leading cause of global mortality, yet therapeutic development in the field has historically lagged behind areas like oncology. CardiaTec aims to address this deficit by examining relationships across genetics, proteomics, and metabolomics to improve target identification.
The newly raised capital will support the company as it seeks to drive innovation and expand its operational scope within cardiovascular research. The round also marks the inaugural investment for Laidlaw Scholars Ventures, a fund established by the Laidlaw Foundation.
