The Liverpool based waste technology firm secured its second equity financing from existing angel backers.
Anthemis led the seed round to support product development and customer acquisition at Ember.
"Ember is at a crucial point in our growth as a software and a company. Having achieved proof of concept and organic customer growth since our pre-seed round, we’re now ready to bring on customers at scale and expand the progressive functionalities of the platform."
The Manchester worker tech start-up secured a mix of debt and equity financing to double its headcount and grow Orka Pay.
"Four years ago we set out to transform the experience of hourly paid workers, who make up 85% of the global workforce. What we’re doing is unique in this sector, and thanks to this funding, we’ll be able to reach many more businesses and their employees in the coming year – and improve the service that we can offer them."
The round was led by Skylake Capital and will support product roadmap acceleration and go-to-market capabilities.

The seed follow on round was led by Nick Kuenssberg and Sir Rod Aldridge to support recruitment and commercial expansion.
