"With our funding product, we’re solving the challenge that tech companies so far would mostly use equity funding to fund their growth. This is a very costly capital source, as it comes with dilution and loss of control. Traditional banks rarely lend to unprofitable tech companies, and venture debt is usually only available for later-stage companies (and often comes with dilution/loss of control as well). With re:cap, tech companies starting from roughly 1m ARR get a flexible, tailored and transparent option to receive growth capital."
The investment was led by Whiterock with participation from regional funds and angel backers.
"There is a substantial unmet need today in neuroscience clinical studies. Many study endpoints are measured with traditional pen and paper assessments which lack objective data about brain function. Biopharma companies need objective data to effectively establish baseline information about whether a drug is engaging with the region of the brain that a particular drug is targeting, whether a drug is effective, and informing which cohort of patients may benefit the most from a particular drug."
The oversubscribed round was led by Energy Impact Partners with backing from several climate and technology investors.
"We are laser-focused on doing the hard yards to improve the physical layer of the grid, specifically overhead systems. The AssetCool team is innovating at the nexus between robotics and materials science to bring meaningful improvements to an aging network. We’ve developed a new range of coatings systematically optimised for overhead lines that makes the grid more efficient and resilient – not by rebuilding it, but by enhancing what already exists."
