London-based health technology startup developing real-time and pain-free microsensors for continuous health monitoring.
London-based healthtech startup Sava has secured $19m in Series A funding to scale up manufacturing, grow its team, and advance regulatory approval for its continuous glucose monitor. The round was led by Balderton Capital and Pentland Ventures, with additional participation from Norrsken VC, JamJar Investments, True, Italian Founders Fund, Athletico Ventures, and Exceptional Ventures.
The capital follows a clinical study of the startup's multi-molecule microsensor technology in Oxford and Cambridge. The funding brings the firm's total capital raised to $32m, following previous support from angels, the European Union, and the British government.
Sava is positioning its device as a less invasive, cost-effective alternative to established market options. The firm plans to expand its headcount, which has already grown past 60 personnel.
