"Perlego is addressing one of the most pressing challenges in modern education – access to essential learning materials. This investment is a vote of confidence in Perlego’s innovative approach to learning and the platform’s potential to reshape the educational landscape. Investing in the futures of young people has always been a passion of mine, and I am particularly committed to funding research in areas of regional disparity. I look forward to seeing how the business continues to transform access to education and I am incredibly proud to play a part in the journey that aligns so closely with my own values."
Arete led the latest investment into the digital scale-up alongside high-profile backers Bill Currie and Sir Terry Leahy.
"The thesis that school facilities can be leveraged for the benefit of the community has been validated. Vivify has generated a significant amount of revenue for schools to date, and this new capital round will enable the business to work with a greater number of schools by providing the technology for school stakeholders with limited time to easily launch and manage a community lettings programme in-house."
The Seed round was backed by investors including Sir Terry Leahy, Lord Alliance, and members of Thomas H Lee.
"At a time of unlimited access to information, we all need a place for safe, curated knowledge. On Uptime there is no fake news, there is no doom scrolling, there is no fluff. We only select sources of knowledge and make recommendations with fresh perspectives from authors and creators our users can trust, and on topics which matter most to them,"
The investment from Sir Terry Leahy and William Currie Group will fund product development and international expansion.
"We’re thankful to our investors for their continued support and for seeing the vision we have for Sirenum in the future. Our continued growth across a variety of industries, as well as new use cases that could not have been foreseen, such as that created by the new vaccination centres, highlight the unique proposition we offer. Moreover, we believe the flexibility of the platform to adjust to unpredictable scenarios, i.e the ability to manage rosters and staff shifts in real time and adjust for sickness or the need to isolate, further underlines why there has never been a better time to invest in workforce management technology like ours. The pandemic has expedited the need for businesses to embrace technology across various parts of their operation, but it is the commercial opportunity for staffing agencies and other employers of shift workers looking for a competitive advantage that will truly propel the use of our technology in the future."
The round was led by Bill Currie, Dermot O'Grady, Mark Horrocks, and Sir Terry Leahy to support geographical and product growth.
"This is the culmination of lots of hard work. It is a pivotal moment for the company. It will change how we operate, how we are perceived and how we think,"
