The Manchester-based fintech secured £2.2m in a round led by Praetura Ventures alongside the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

"SMEs and early-stage innovators are a vital pillar of our economy and will play an important role in UK's post-pandemic recovery, but many continue to be hampered by inadequate banking services. BankiFi want to change that by putting banks at the heart of businesses' day-to-day needs. Before the pandemic, invoice cycles took a month on average, meaning most businesses didn't get paid for their services or products for more than 50 days. That delay has now increased to more than 70 days, putting immense pressure on the cashflow of many SMEs."

The Manchester-based enterprise software company has raised £54.4m from SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and existing backers to scale its decision intelligence platform.

"We’re proud to be working with some of the biggest brands in the world. Modern businesses are complex and operate in an ever-changing world. It’s becoming impossible to run them without AI, which is enabling them to make consistently great decisions, faster and more accurately than ever before."

"XR Games has achieved a number of great milestones in a short space of time and we are delighted to support the business at such an exciting stage in its growth journey. Immersive technology has huge potential in this industry and Bobby and the team's experience, ambition and delivery in this niche has been instrumental in them developing such an impressive list of global clients and partners already. We look forward to working with the team and existing investors as they embark on a programme of rapid growth."

The funding round was led by Praetura Ventures and BMJ New Ventures to support the expansion of workforce technology in the NHS.

"The NHS is facing a workforce crisis. Burnout is at record levels and more staff are planning to leave than ever before. And the systems which manage the NHS workforce are exacerbating the problem. As a doctor, I know how frustrating it is to feel like a number on a spreadsheet rather than a human being with a life outside of work – it’s a key driver in pushing people out of the healthcare profession. If we’re reaching burnout, we have two options: put up with it or quit. Our technology and services are making a different, better way possible."
