The Index Ventures led round lifts the company total seed funding to over $14m.
"The market is crying out for a new kind of monetisation platform. Our team and product are in place, and customer feedback is beyond expectations, so we’re excited to scale our distribution engine and extend our reach beyond early adopters. Demand for a more flexible, automated revenue management solution is growing fast — especially as people realise the gains of our platform within just a few weeks."
The oversubscribed round was led by Venrex with participation from 8VC, Form Ventures, and several venture scout funds.
"With the adoption of AI in creative tools, the amount of creative work is now growing by 30% a year. For example, last year, more photographs were generated than have ever been taken by human photographers. So, we’ve been asking ourselves ‘what infrastructure is going to be needed to manage this volume of work?’. One problem that doesn’t scale well is issue checking – there’s no Grammarly for creative work and to date this tedious work is still done by eye. Beyond issue checking, we believe AI provides creatives with insights akin to accessing a panel of experts. We see the role of AI as enabling people’s creative processes, not replacing them"
The investment round was led by Zinal Growth with participation from Index Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Tony Fadell.
"We’ve been deeply impressed by the execution and vision of Bogdan and the Apron team. They have created a delightful product for both SMBs and accountants, and we are excited to continue supporting them on their journey."
The financing round was led by Index Ventures with backing from Bessemer Venture Partners and Visionaries Club.
"Apron puts itself in the position of all these users – accountants, business owners and suppliers – and instead of trying to solve business payments from just one perspective, we create a town square where they can all come together to move money as smoothly as possible. We want to flip payments from being a blocker to being a booster: something that can be done quickly, securely and even give you a sense of joy and satisfaction."
The seed round was led by Index Ventures and Chalfen Ventures.
"We want to reduce the pain involved with bringing physical products to market. Currently, companies are spending up to 1% of their total revenue on making their products compliant through consultancy costs or the need for extensive internal teams which manually process documents. We’ve greatly accelerated the process by automating much of the data extraction. We’re starting with a laser focus on cosmetics, but our vision is to eventually enable any business to launch any product in any market."
