Ankar secures £3m in seed funding led by Index Ventures to expand its intellectual property platform

The seed round was led by Index Ventures with participation from multiple venture firms and angel investors.
Ankar provides an artificial intelligence platform designed to streamline the patent lifecycle from initial conception to final protection. The system assists enterprises in drafting applications and analysing prior art securely.
Ankar has secured £3m in a seed funding round led by Index Ventures to support its intellectual property platform. The financing also saw participation from Daphni, Motier Ventures, Booom, and Puzzle Ventures, alongside prominent technology executives.
The London-based business applies artificial intelligence to help research and development teams identify patent opportunities, draft submissions, and monitor for infringements. Founded by alumni of Palantir, the company already counts several major corporate enterprises among its early clients.
The newly raised capital will be deployed to scale operations and expand the reach of its technology across global markets.
From the founder
"Our platform dramatically streamlines this process and mountains of documents which slow down research today. But improving efficiency is only the beginning, building AI into the invention process, along with the inventors allows inventors to fundamentally expand the horizons of what we can imagine creating. We believe Ankar is creating the foundation for the next generation of breakthrough technologies."
