The funding round was led by British Design Fund and will support domestic and international growth.
"I’ve always been passionate about solving problems and engineering solutions for the home. While the idea for the Hidealoo was driven by my father’s ill health and the need to get clever with small living spaces, it has many other potential applications. The frame itself has been engineered to be incredibly robust and is capable of taking well over three times normal human weight. It’s also made to last more than a lifetime having been tested over 250,000 times."
British Design Fund provided £125k towards the seed round to support premises relocation and engineering hires.
"Releasing seized fasteners is a massive operational challenge across many industries, with current manual methods often leading to damage to assets and costly delays. With our technology, we aim to help reduce costs, increase operator safety, and provide certainty during maintenance scheduling."
The London-based start-up raised the capital from specialist funds and angel investors, led by British Design Fund.
"Wastewater surveillance monitors health on a community-scale, non-invasively. However, up until now those services have been manual and therefore slow and expensive. We knew there was a need for an automated solution, which we’re building at Untap."
The Edinburgh start-up has raised £150k in a round led by British Design Fund to expand its manufacturing capabilities.
"Rocketing fuel prices are plunging many households into fuel poverty, which highlights the need for easier, more affordable ways to reduce window heat loss. Our Gecko Panes provide provide an affordable and easy way to reduce heat loss and emissions from the UK’s poorly insultated housing stock. We aim to install Gecko Panes in thousands of homes per year, not just in the UK, but in key export markets too."
The Northampton start-up raised the capital from the British Design Fund and angel investors.
"The emergency services have been tasked with reducing their emissions and face some unique challenges in doing so. They need their first response vehicles to be ready when they’re needed and available to go when they need to go. A lack of fast charging infrastructure and issues with installing them onsite, currently makes it very difficult to fully switch to EVs."
