Hidealoo manufactures a patented, fold-away toilet frame that allows standard wall hung ceramic pans and cisterns to be stored inside cupboards and wardrobes when not in use.
British engineering firm Hidealoo has secured £160k in a funding round led by British Design Fund. The capital will be deployed to drive commercialisation and target growth across domestic and international markets.
Invented by design engineer Monty Ravenscroft, the patented frame allows standard wall hung toilets to be folded away when not in use. The product was developed following years of architectural design work and was refined in collaboration with designer Sebastian Conran.
The investment marks the latest milestone for the company as it prepares to scale its operations and bring the product to a broader market.

"I’ve always been passionate about solving problems and engineering solutions for the home. While the idea for the Hidealoo was driven by my father’s ill health and the need to get clever with small living spaces, it has many other potential applications. The frame itself has been engineered to be incredibly robust and is capable of taking well over three times normal human weight. It’s also made to last more than a lifetime having been tested over 250,000 times."
