Goldman Sachs Asset Management has backed ComplyAdvantage in an extension to its Series C funding round.
"The company brings clear value to its clients and has grown at an impressive rate. We are excited to support the business as it continues to scale rapidly and help companies of all stages manage these critical risks."
The funding round was backed by SFC Capital, British Business Investments, and New World Group to support financial inclusion.
"We are the first Fintech to take a fully values-based approach to serving communities with a truly systemic approach to financial inclusion. Moreover, we are committed to engaging, educating and empowering minorities to close the wealth and social gaps that exist. There are 1.3 billion addressable people on the planet who remain unbanked. If we want to emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic to a better version of our world, we cannot do that without ensuring that everyone can participate in today’s financial system and therefore be included in modern society."
The pre-seed funding round was backed by Chris Craig-Wood, Greg Gormley and Nigel Ashfield.

Index Ventures led the Series A round with participation from Marathon, Pentech and EBRD to support team growth and market expansion.

The Series A round was led by Acuity Investments to expand the company's DNA-based bio-monitoring products.
"Forensic scientists have used DNA to identify individuals at crime scenes for years – now we can use our technology to identify the whole range of species, from bacteria to birds, present in the environment using small samples of soil or water. Our technology can identify tiny fragments of DNA left behind by species and pinpoint exactly which species it is from."
