The Development Bank of Wales has backed dog-welcoming coffee shop chain Coffi Lab with £1.7m to accelerate its regional expansion.
"The investment we’ve had from the Development Bank of Wales means we’ll be able to leverage our investment, speeding up our roll out to bring our Labs to even more communities across Wales and beyond."
The seed round was led by a Dubai-based investment group with backing from individual technology investors.
"Parenting has never been so tough and each new generation is burdened with more stress than the last. We don’t think it should be this way and believe that there’s a solution in technology to not only help us remove some of the stress that comes with being a modern-day parent, but also make things easier and happier for us and our children."
The funding round will support business growth and the creation of 16 new jobs.

Our digital funeral planning service and end of life planning tools ensure that we can cater to the diverse needs of our clients during their most challenging times, and we are thrilled to have the support of The FSE Group and our other investors on this journey."
The pre-seed round was led by Jenson Funding Partners to support product development and market entry.

The funding marks the third investment by the Development Bank in Mallows Beauty, taking total support to over £1m.
