"The headwinds and opportunities facing restaurants today are enormous. Operators are adapting to changing customer preferences around dining and ordering as well as monumental market disruptions – first the pandemic, then supply-chain disruptions and a labour shortage. This has dramatically changed how restaurants operate and shrunk profit margins for those not able to adapt,"

The London data science firm has secured a £15.2m Series B investment led by Oxx alongside AlbionVC.

"At PepsiCo, Trendscope has been instrumental in the development of new products and staying ahead of mainstream consumer preferences by monitoring data from Twitter, Reddit, and other online sources. During the pandemic, for example, we saw an increase in conversations and posts about seltzer makers and new flavours in lieu of consumers being able to consume their favourite beverages out of the home. This insight helped PepsiCo prioritise and fast-track the development of new products like Bubly Drops to take advantage of this growing territory."

Fred Olsen led the pre-Series A round, which will fund European expansion and new product development.

"Fred Olsen and Triple Point are a great match for Modo Energy – they share our big ambitions around net-zero and the massive potential of data within this sector. They’re also completely aligned with our mission – to help companies achieve huge success with their energy storage assets. We’re seeing more and more companies incorporate an Asset Success mindset into their business strategy – particularly the leading funds and investors in the energy storage space. Asset Success is all about data transparency – understanding markets and assets, forecasting what comes next, and bringing this all together to enable informed, high-quality decision-making."
