The Belfast start-up raised the capital largely through the Halo business angel network to prepare for its summer product launch.
"If you want to measure the height of a person – or indeed, a horse, wardrobe, door or any number of everyday things – how would you do that? Astonishingly, although it is 2016 and we are surrounded by sophisticated hand-held measurement devices, the only readily available tools for measuring the height of everyday things are sticks and tapes – ‘technologies’ that were invented thousands of years ago."
Cambridge Innovation Capital led the round with a £1.5m investment.
"It has been fantastic to see Jukedeck develop since last year and we were delighted to assist CIC with further investment into this innovative company"
The funding round was backed by a consortium including Angel Academe, Hambro Perks and Coral Reef.
"Angel Academe should be top of the list for any female founder looking for funding, their network and people are amazing. I hope more women will join them, so they can back more entrepreneurs like me."
London Business Angels and the London Co-Investment Fund backed the mobile payments platform to support sales and technical growth.
"Working with LBA and LCIF has provided us with the investment we need for growth and brings with it well connected investors with a strategic interest. We have already seen the power of our current momentum, signing up four new customers in the UK and US."
The peer-to-peer currency exchange platform surpassed its initial target with backing from VentureFounders.
"This funding round, supported by VentureFounders, allows us to accelerate our already ambitious growth strategy and develop our team even further. We are delighted that VentureFounders are part of this investment round and look forward to working closely with them as we build our business."
