An online networking platform for creative professionals that connects users with commercial opportunities, collaborators, and employers.

The Dots has raised £1.5m in funding from a consortium of angel investors, including Angel Academe, Hambro Perks and Coral Reef. The fresh capital will be deployed to accelerate growth within the United Kingdom, with plans for a subsequent fundraising round to support international expansion.

Alongside the funding announcement, the company appointed Sir John Hegarty, co-founder of BBH and The Garage, as chairman of its board. Founded last year by Pip Jamieson, the platform has attracted numerous high-profile clients ranging from the BBC to Airbnb since its launch in September 2014.

From the founder

"Angel Academe should be top of the list for any female founder looking for funding, their network and people are amazing. I hope more women will join them, so they can back more entrepreneurs like me."
