Sony Innovation Fund backs London interactive entertainment studio Scriptic in second seed close.
"Scriptic is emerging as a front-runner in the future of interactive entertainment, and we are excited to be partnering with the team for the next chapter of their growth journey in an area where we see tremendous opportunity. Scriptic’s highly scalable, efficient and sophisticated mobile-first approach pushes the boundaries of interactive content, and we believe the company’s UGC offering has the potential to take this further by empowering the creativity of millions of everyday storytellers."
The funding round was co-led by QVentures, Blackwood, and Ferdinand Ahorner to support platform development.
"I think it’s extremely important for platforms like PROSPECT 100 to exist. There’s so much talent hidden in our world, it’s great seeing people like PROSPECT 100 giving a platform for them to be noticed,"
The seed round was co-led by Chalfen Ventures and LocalGlobe to fund further product development.
"Since announcing Translucent in March we have been delighted by the volume of interest we have received. This fundraising allows us to further build out our platform and solve the accounting and finance problems faced by multi-entity businesses."
The third investment from Mercia Ventures and the North East Venture Fund will support four new hires and user acquisition.
"This latest round of funding will further assist with our scale up plans to secure more users of the app, through direct and partnership sign ups. It will also help us continue to enhance our technology platform to support the creation of a network of connected users to form a virtual power plant. This will help the National Grid to make the most of households ever growing smart meter network and accelerate the transition to a sustainable and secure energy network."
The investment was led by MUSIC and will fund international expansion alongside new ticketing features.
"The live music industry is adopting DICE faster than ever and proves our thesis that if you treat fans well, they buy more tickets, and go out more often. We’re investing heavily in building even more technology and this year alone we released over 60 new features for fans, venues and artists. I’m excited that Matt (Pincus) has joined the Board and we’re more focused than ever on our mission to get fans out more."
