General Atlantic led the £280m growth financing, which will support European expansion and a new manufacturing facility.

"We are delighted to now partner with General Atlantic, who is an incredible investor and shares our long-term vision of developing the category of Fresh pet food across Europe. It is also fantastic to receive further support from our long-standing partner, L Catterton who we’ve been proud to work with for several years now and who also believes in the power of Fresh and that we are only really at the starting line. Most notably we are incredibly excited by what this investment will unlock for our customers (dogs and humans) in the years to come as we are nothing without them."

The pre seed round was led by Seedcamp with backing from Evolvient Capital and angel investors.

"After speaking with industry leaders, they made it clear that if friction from self-assessment could be removed and a more cost-effective model be put in place, then there was a great opportunity for mass adoption."

The London-based bladder care startup secured backing from Eka VC and Joyance to drive its upcoming launch in the United States.

"Since launch, we’ve improved the lives of tens of thousands of people suffering from bladder issues with treatments and education tools. This investment will be critical in us achieving this mission, and expanding our services to the US, where 75m people struggle with these issues. I’m incredibly happy to welcome Eka Ventures and Joyance – who are aligned on our healthcare mission – and to continue our partnership with Samos VC."

The funding round follows the company securing default browser status on Apple devices and precedes a planned Series A in 2024.

"Being awarded default browser status by Apple is a huge milestone for the Chatloop team, who have worked tirelessly for the last ten months to ensure our app meets Apple’s stringent integration requirements. Our world-class browser is faster than both Chrome and Safari and default browser status across Apple’s products means that billions of people across the world can now enjoy the benefits of Chatloop every time they go online."
