Metris raises £2m in pre-seed funding to launch commercial solar platform
The round was led by Octopus Ventures and Aenu to support the rollout of solar software for commercial real estate.
Metris is a London-based solar energy platform that uses artificial intelligence to simplify the adoption of solar power for commercial property owners.
London-based solar energy platform Metris has secured £2m in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by Octopus Ventures and Aenu.
The capital will support the official launch of the company platform in the UK, introducing tools for portfolio assessment, billing, and payments to help commercial landlords manage solar installations.
Co-founders Natasha Jones and William Whatley established the business to address the complex administrative hurdles that traditionally discourage property owners from adopting renewable energy.
Investor perspective
"We are excited to back Metris’ vision to finally align incentives and enable every commercial property owner to generate its own renewable energy and sell this more sustainable, and cheaper, energy to tenants. Natasha and Will are helping commercial property owners reduce their carbon footprint, improve the energy efficiency of their properties, and accelerate the UK towards the large and legally binding commitments that have been made to Net Zero targets."
