The London-based food technology company has raised £4m from Earthworm and other backers to build new plant factories and scale production.
"Following several years of hard work, today's raise validates our growth strategy and strong position in the London market, furthering our mission to improve the food and health of urban inhabitants, starting in London"
The seed round was led by the North East Venture Fund and investor Jenny Campbell to support regional deployment and hiring.
"I’d struggled to find the right investors and was ready to give up on the idea, but Mercia showed strong support and then the opportunity to go on Dragons’ Den came up. The reaction from the programme has been brilliant and demonstrated that there was a real appetite for the solution across the UK. With the backing of Mercia and Jenny Campbell, I am now ready to start deploying into live locations over the coming months."
The Leeds-based educational technology startup raised £500k from existing backers to grow its team and platform.
"We’re really excited to complete this funding round with our existing investors, which shows the faith they have in the team and the future we’re building at Synap. We’ll be using the funding to expand our team, and to invest in further developing the product to help people learn more in less time. We’re very proud to be a tech company based in Leeds and to be working with local investors. We’re really looking forward to the future which will see us bringing more attractive jobs into the region and expanding into new sectors"
The London-based startup has secured capital to develop predictive health analytics and expand its care platform.
"There are few more important decisions than who to trust to look after your loved ones. Yet the current market is broken with a lack of transparency, poor quality care and poor working conditions for carers,"
The seed round was led by Episode 1 to support the company in developing its fulfilment service.
"We started experimenting with selling online to see what problems sellers face and it was amazing how quickly it became obvious to us that this was the major one. Quite literally, no fulfilment service would touch us until we could guarantee high volume sales."
