LDV Capital led the Series A round with backing from a broad group of new and existing investors.
"Consumers and employees today expect video-based communication that is tailored to them. For companies it’s difficult to deliver these experiences because the conventional ways of creating video content is a physical process that simply doesn’t scale."
China Renaissance Capital Investment backed the Series A round to support business expansion in China and Northern Europe.
"In China, the demand for imported consumer goods, such as mother and baby care products, are growing strongly driven by increasing consumption power and desire for authentic and differentiated products"
The investment extension was led by Harwell Capital to support expansion into new digital media sectors.
"Harwell has been a hugely supportive investment partner, who provide far more than cash alone to the company. They understand our vision and objectives and bring significant advice and acumen to ensure we can execute on our continued growth plans in a most exciting market."
Earthworm has provided a £2.2m Series B investment to support Weedingtech as it expands its herbicide-free weed control technology internationally.
"We believe the investment from Earthworm recognises two key things. Firstly, the success Weedingtech has had to date supplying the market with a popular and essential alternative to traditional chemical herbicides. And secondly, the global high-growth potential that the herbicide-free sector holds as organisations increasingly look to reduce their reliance on traditional chemical herbicides. Weedingtech was founded on very similar values to Earthworm in that we wanted to develop and supply products that benefit the environment. It’s an exciting time to be in this sector and we are delighted to have a new investor who shares our vision and values."
The seed round was led by Speedinvest to support the development of disinformation detection technology.
"While I was building my previous start-up I saw at first-hand how biased, polarising news articles were shared and artificially amplified by vast numbers of fake accounts. This gave the stories high levels of exposure and authenticity they wouldn’t have had on their own."
