The funding was awarded through the Capability and Innovation Fund Pool D grant to develop a global transaction platform for UK businesses.
"Form3’s FI API payment technology and Ebury’s global SME transaction services are already disrupting payments and forex. Our plan is to combine these unique capabilities to significantly disrupt the market and give UK SMEs access to these services at scale through our FI clients, enabling UK SMEs to grow their businesses internationally and focus on their core businesses."
Cambridge Innovation Capital and Amadeus Capital Partners led the seed round to support quantum software development.
"This seed funding allows us to accelerate our work at a critical time in the development of quantum computers. Computers are central to the design of many new products, but when we try to model systems at the level of individual atoms, the rules that govern their behaviour are fundamentally different. Even huge supercomputers are limited to approximations. As a result the design of new drugs and materials remains primarily a laboratory, rather than a computational, exercise. Riverlane’s software aims to unleash the huge potential of quantum computers."
The funding round was led by Episode 1 to support key senior hires and community expansion.
"The work of data scientists is especially important in the area of finance, where a single slip in rationality can lead to a devastating effect on the value of an investment portfolio. Algorithms don’t feel the emotional strain of a declining portfolio value, or make flawed decisions tainted by innate human biases. As a result, algorithmic decision making in financial markets has grown explosively in recent times."
HPE Growth led the Series A round to support the telemedicine provider's entry into statutory healthcare systems in Europe.
"Zava offers a unique and highly scalable model to deliver a more convenient healthcare experience to patients while radically improving the efficiency of healthcare professionals, enabling healthcare systems to reduce the overall costs associated with primary care. We are excited to be working with David and his team to expand Zava into statutory healthcare systems and bring Zava in a first step to the rest of Europe."
The initial investment from Henley Business Angels will support sales and product development.
"Lord Baker and the team are thrilled to have received this strong vote of confidence at the beginning of the fundraise. It will enable us to build out the platform and help thousands more students connect with top employers from an early age, helping transform futures and solve the STEM skills shortage."
