SOSV is a venture capital firm operating global accelerator programmes across sectors such as hardware, life sciences, cross-border internet, food, and blockchain.
Hiro Capital led the round with participation from Artesian and SOSV to fund technological development and team expansion.
"Our mission at Carv is to make ski coaching both more enjoyable and accessible through gamification. Hiro’s wealth of gaming experience and its positive application in sports makes them the perfect partner in helping us achieve this vision. We are deeply grateful for their financial backing, and the expert guidance they can provide as we move forwards together,"
The oversubscribed round was backed by Consilience Ventures, SOSV, and Catapult Ventures to support the development of the GRACE device.
"This investment is a vote of confidence in QV Bioelectronics from sector-expert investors. The funds raised will fuel the next phase of development of the GRACE device, allowing the size of the QV Bioelectronics team to grow in the process. This will take our innovative electric field therapy technology a few steps closer towards the clinic."
The Series A round was led by Artesian Investments to expand the digital instruction platform.
"This investment represents an incredibly exciting step towards our vision to become the de facto product to improve skiing technique. Skiing is a difficult sport to learn, and 88% of skiers stop lessons after less than 1 week – Carv offers a convenient and fun experience to continue learning. The pandemic has only accelerated the adoption of Carv’s digital ski instruction with us seeing over a 100% year-on-year growth for 2020 Q4. We are excited to be rapidly expanding our user base as the additional data helps us build an ever better coaching system. We are proud to welcome back our existing investors and see their continued support for our vision to deliver digital sports coaching. This is just the start for Carv, and we look forward to the next stage of growth and innovation."
