The London fintech firm raised the capital from backers including Bain Capital and Unusual Ventures to satisfy tier-one regulatory requirements.
"International payments are a pain point across a range of industries including e-commerce, marketplaces, and online platforms such as payroll and pensions to name just a few. These are sectors that need to cater for complex layers of incoming and outgoing payments, to and from large volumes of businesses and individuals, and across multiple jurisdictions. Getting the licences in Ireland and the UK sets us up wonderfully for 2024 and means that international businesses can now use our solution to remove these headaches in a regulated environment."
The round was led by Stride with participation from high profile funds and angel investors.
"But at Triver, we’ve cracked the code. Using Open Banking and artificial intelligence we are revolutionising how SMEs access finance and are partnering with digital service providers already trusted by these businesses."
The investment was co-led by Unusual Ventures, Motive Partners, and Bain Capital Ventures to fuel international expansion and product development.
"High-potential companies struggle to cope with large volumes of international payments and there is a huge gap in the market — at one end you have inefficient local solutions; at the other, you have the tier-one global providers, inaccessible to all but the world’s biggest businesses. Businesses have no option but to stitch together a costly and complex patchwork of service providers and this is the pain point that Paytrix is stepping in to solve."
The London software business has closed a Series C round backed by Insight Partners and existing shareholders to fund international growth.
"At Insight Partners, we invest in fast-scaling software companies. The Pollinate platform creates white-labelled digital marketplaces for the business customers of the world’s largest banks"
— Emmet Keeffe III, Operating Partner at Insight Partners and Founder of Insight IGNITE
The funding round was backed by a consortium of global financial heavyweights to expand the reach of its merchant services technology.
"Retail banks around the world are facing common issues, but they remain the only ones in the payment chain who can connect directly with both merchants and consumers. They are therefore best placed to help SME’s process transactions, support their balance sheets, and grow their businesses, creating a virtuous circle between the bank, merchants, and consumers. As we know consumers increasingly expect a more personalised service from the businesses they interact with, regardless of their size, so at its heart Pollinate is about relationships and growth through connection – our platform enables relationships to be strengthened through fantastic digital experiences, and real-time data processing analytics and integrations."
