Seedcamp led the financing round to help fund the digital health startup's public rollout.
"While working as a doctor, I saw firsthand the devastating complications of type 2 diabetes – from strokes to heart attacks to blindness. For the majority of patients, pills are not solving the problem. We now have strong clinical evidence that remission can be the goal for most patients. Sadly, with the NHS at a breaking point, it is not in a place to deliver intensive remission programs to the 4.2 million type 2 diabetics in the UK."
The seed round was backed by Episode 1 Ventures, MMC Ventures and Seedcamp to support team expansion and product development.
"We are excited to be partnering with leading venture capital firms to create the placing experience the reinsurance community has dreamt of for decades. Paired with Riskbook's win-win-win philosophy, this new funding cements our role as a trusted independent provider to cedents, brokers and reinsurers alike."
The healthcare artificial intelligence startup raised the capital from backers including MMC Ventures, Seedcamp, and Bayer G4A to scale operations globally.
"The inability of today's computers to understand doctors' unique way of writing has been a major issue. Doctors can correctly describe an 'infiltrating mass' without writing the word 'tumor' or write 'bilateral ground glass peripheral opacity' without explicitly indicating a suspicion for COVID-19"
The funding round was led by Octopus Ventures and MMC Ventures with participation from Amadeus Capital Partners and Toyota AI Ventures.
"Even before the crisis, SLAMcore was engaged in many conversations with companies – big and small – who needed a better way to solve spatial intelligence issues in robotics. Especially across sectors such as drones, robots, and AR/VR, the coronavirus pandemic has lit the touch-paper and we are primed to meet exploding demand. In the past few weeks alone, we have seen a huge spike in enquiries as robotics companies want fast solutions to get their robots to market sooner."
The extended Series A round was led by MMC Ventures and Praetura Ventures to support commercial growth and research.
"It has the power to optimize entire business models, in real-time, and drive both growth and profitability. We believe that AI is so crucial to the future of the enterprise that it demands its own central business system. Just like every business needs an ERP or CRM system, every business now needs an AI System to compete in the modern era."
