The University of Southampton spinout secured Series A backing from IQ Capital, Bloc Ventures, and the IP Group to scale its operations.
"From gaming and VR to automated robotic manufacturing lines and telemedicine, the use cases on the road to 5G appear almost limitless. But a critical roadblock remains – latency. For more than 15 years a research team led by Prof. Maunder, first at the University of Southampton and now at AccelerComm, has been working to solve the challenge to deliver on the 5G promise of a low latency, high throughput experience. We are delighted to have closed our Series A funding round, which will help us further develop and deploy our already market leading technology to help improve the efficiency of networks for many years to come."
The financing round was led by Foresight Williams Technology to support product rollout and grid balancing services.
"This round comes at an exciting time in markets across the UK, Western Europe and North America. With recent pledges to transition from natural gas in new build properties by 2025 across Europe along with unprecedented volatility in the UK’s electricity balancing market, Mixergy is well positioned to accelerate the low carbon transition through relationships with low cost manufacturing supply chains that cater to a global market."
Marubeni Corporation led the equity investment to accelerate the company market growth across sub-Saharan Africa.
"We are delighted today to announce the equity investment by Marubeni Corporation and existing shareholders. The entry of a leading player in the international energy market into this sector demonstrates the increasing maturity of off-grid power and its role in serving the 600 million people in Africa that still lack access to electricity,"
The financing round was led by RT Ventures and will support the US commercial roll-out of the company test.
"This Series B financing allows us to commercialize our lead product in patients with advanced lung cancer, following our positive reimbursement decision. We also have an exciting portfolio of future products that will be advanced in parallel to maximize the benefits of our industry-leading InVision Liquid Biopsy platform to patients. We are grateful to our existing investors for their continued support and are delighted to welcome RT Ventures to our already strong investor base. With these funds in place, we look forward to continuing our mission to transform the lives of cancer patients through the power of liquid biopsy."
Insight Venture Partners and MissionOG led the £25m funding round.
"We have made tremendous progress over the last 15 months since our last fund raising – and this fund raise is the largest to date. The additional funds will enable us to continue rapidly growing the business internationally by focusing on our products, our people and our customers."
