Audioscenic secures £1.5m Seed investment to expand its 3D audio technology team and operations
The funding round was led by Foresight Group and Williams Advanced Engineering alongside existing backer IP Group.
Audioscenic develops user adaptive three dimensional audio beamforming technology for consumer electronics and entertainment applications. The firm operates from Southampton and targets markets ranging from automotive systems to personal computing.
Audioscenic has secured £1.5m in funding to expand its team and develop its 3D audio technology further. The round was led by Foresight Group and Williams Advanced Engineering, with continued backing from existing investor IP Group. The company plans to use the capital to hire technical and commercial personnel, advance its product offerings, and launch commercially with selected customers.
The business originated as a spin-out from the University of Southampton in 2017, building upon acoustic research into head tracking and directional sound beaming. Its adaptive system eliminates the traditional acoustic sweet spot associated with conventional surround sound setups.
