"This investment by Barclays and BGF is strong recognition of the value delivered by XNO®. By utilising XNO®, cell manufacturers can deliver the most-innovative, sustainable, and high performing batteries to facilitate the effective electrification of heavy-duty vehicles. It is gratifying to have some of the world’s leading investors support our ambitions and cement their belief in XNO® by investing significant capital. Their investment will enable us to take the next major step forward in our fast-moving company journey."
The funding round was backed by Barclays Sustainable Impact Capital, Mercia Ventures, the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, and Green Angel Syndicate to fuel expansion.
"The transition to net zero emission for many sectors is not as simple as swapping from high-emitting fuels to renewables, and this is particularly true of the logistics industry. Zedify have identified that hyper-local delivery models are needed, in combination with low-carbon transport, in order to decarbonise the industry, reducing pollution within the UK’s cities."
Legal & General Capital and Barclays Sustainable Impact Capital co-led the Series A round to support manufacturing expansion and international growth.
"Today’s funding announcement clears our path to sustainable growth for years to come. It is a vote of confidence from the market in our vision, our technical capabilities and our mission to rid EV motors of harmful and problematic materials. Everyone at AEM and our new partners are excited for the role we are now able to play in making the electric vehicle sector truly sustainable."
The funding round was led by Barclays Sustainable Impact Capital and MEIF Proof of Concept and Early Stage Fund to support national expansion and job creation.
"Zedify’s model delivers tangible benefits- significant carbon reduction in the last mile; a fairer system for workers which counteracts the gig economy; cleaner, safer deliveries that contribute to healthier, more liveable cities; and more choice for consumers about how and when they receive their parcels. It’s exciting to have the backing of new and existing investors to enable us to realise our mission to transform urban logistics and create cities that are truly better for everyone."
