The Norfolk space technology company closed the round with significant overfunding.

"It’s not everyday that we see a pitch which involves launching rockets! Gravitilab have seen excellent growth since inception in 2019 and is a fantastic example of the exciting innovation which we’re proud to see coming out of our region."

The investment round was led by Mercia and will fund the production of two new satellites.

"By streaming real-time video to billions of people worldwide, Sen aims to democratise space. Our service will raise awareness about planetary changes and support those directly affected by events on Earth. We will use Augmented Reality on top of video to provide additional insights to users tell the story and provide unique new perspectives for humanity. We’re delighted to welcome Mercia on board to help us achieve our goals."

British Design Fund has backed the space services startup to support its affordable microgravity testing solutions.

"There are currently very few ways to conduct research when you’re developing a product for use in space. Of those that do exist, the cost is prohibitively high and waiting lists can be years long and access to SME’s is almost non-existent. We knew there had to be a solution, which is where the idea for Gravitilab was born."
— Rob Adlard, Technical Director

The investment from backers including SFC Capital will accelerate the manufacturing of the Twinkle satellite ahead of a Series A round.

"We at SFC Capital are pleased to support the growth of Blue Skies Space as they prepare themselves to secure Series A funding for the construction and launch of their first satellite. The SFC EIS Fund supports the best performers from our portfolio of over 300 companies and Blue Skies Space is a great example of a company that has made impressive progress since our original investment in 2018."

The second close of the Series A round was joined by participants including Lockheed Martin, In-Q-Tel, and Contrarian Ventures.

"We are thrilled to have raised further funding to propel our expansion into the US market. Our advanced thermal infrared camera will be able to offer unique, previously unseen insights into human activity and the full constellation will enable up to twenty revisits per day of a single location anywhere on the planet. The funding supports the development of new applications and enables closer collaboration on proof of concepts with our customers. This investment further demonstrates that our technology offers potential benefits for national security capabilities, and we look forward to building and expanding our relationship with partners overseas, particularly the US."
— Anthony Baker, CEO
