Maven Capital Partners led the seed round to help the manufacturer expand its capacity and meet increasing market demand.

"AMufacture provides a differentiated, service-led proposition in an expanding market and the demand from new and existing customers sets out a clear pathway to growth. Capital constraints are often at the heart of ambitious companies not fulfilling their potential, but we are confident that our investment to help the business increase its scope and capabilities, alongside the strong management team with extensive sector experience, will help AMufacture achieve significant revenue scale."

Oxford Innovation EIS Growth Fund has backed the manufacturer of cold corrugation equipment in a follow-on funding round.

"Despite appearances, corrugated board is not easy to make and over the last 50 years there has been little to no innovation in the manufacturing process. With the majority of global goods now being bought online and demand for sustainable packaging increasing, it was time for a revolutionary solution to the current energy and water intensive manufacturing processes. Our cold corrugation process uses 80% less energy, is one tenth of the price, and allows for decentralised, on-demand production that reduces manufacturing costs by up to 30%. This recent investment will allow us to continue the manufacture of our innovative machines and enable more customers to harness the benefits of self-manufacturing their corrugated board more sustainably."

British Design Fund has backed Huddersfield manufacturing startup Holdson in its latest funding round.

"With our Electroform machine, we are meeting a clear need within post-processing in the additive manufacturing industry for a cost-effective and sustainable way to polish and finish metal surfaces to a high level of precision. While existing solutions are costly and slow, our patented process is up to six times faster, providing a 90% reduction in surface roughness in just 10 minutes."

The London software firm has secured backing from IQ Capital and Nikon to expand its automated manufacturing platform globally.

"Despite its clear economic and environmental benefits, manufacturers have difficulty implementing additive manufacturing at an industrial scale. This is due to concerns about its reliability and ease of adoption. We believe that automation and smart use of data is the solution to this problem. By partnering with Nikon as a leading technology provider who has a grand vision for the future of manufacturing, and IQ Capital as a deep-tech investor with proven track record of supporting global businesses, we are well positioned to achieve our goal for automating the factories of the future."
