"The past year has been one of the most difficult in living memory for hospitality operators and we have done all we can to help them survive. However, there is now a strong sense of optimism and operators are expecting a boom in business. The funding will help us to further develop the products and take advantage of the opportunities ahead."
Tomahawk and Ascension led the pre-seed round, with backing from Haatch and NBS Ventures, to support the growth of the social lending platform.
"We’re on a mission to personalise credit scoring and create a fairer way to assess creditworthiness. By making smarter lending decisions based on a person’s actual behaviour and current financial position, we will be giving financial independence to millions of people currently excluded from life-changing loans. I’m one of the ‘13 million’ and I have a deeply personal experience with the blunt instrument that is our current outdated and odious credit scoring system. This investment is a big step towards creating a world where everyone is treated fairly and can access affordable finance."
The Series A round was led by OTB Ventures and will support international expansion and platform development.
"We are thrilled to have raised our latest level of funding and partnering with great investors as we embark on our exciting next stage of growth. The investment will be put towards improving and expanding our services, both in terms of manufacturing capabilities and geography. Since starting operations in Manchester, Fractory has played a vital role in helping to digitise the UK’s metalworks industry, which we believe will be essential for its survival. We can’t wait to expand our platform to help more manufacturers and markets across the globe."
The extension round includes backing from Blume Equity and existing investors to support the brand's growth.
"Elvie is ready for the next phase of our growth. We have already revolutionized the categories we operate in, but we know that there is vast untapped potential to create better technology products and services for women in new areas."
The pre-employment screening platform raised £2m in follow-on funding to scale its credential verification services.
"Veremark’s aim is to help companies hire with greater confidence. Our platform is about bringing speed, simplicity and security to the hiring market. It doesn’t matter whether you are hiring in Bermondsey, Bangalore or Baltimore – we enable companies to check the claims and credentials of those they are looking to bring onboard into their companies. We see this round as an initial stepping stone in the start of transforming the overall ‘Trust’ market and build a new category around credential management to drive greater efficiency in the hiring market and beyond"
