The healthtech company secured ninety percent of the round from its own medical user base.

The investment was backed by the North East Venture Fund and managed by Mercia to support product enhancement and job creation.
Octopus Ventures led the financing round, which will fund technology development and team expansion.

The funding round will support the clinical development of the company's transdermal testosterone patch for post-menopausal women.
"Having the funding in place for the first clinical trial of our testosterone patch for post-menopausal women will enable Medherant to take a major step towards registration of the product and being able to address this significant gap in the options available for women in this very important stage of their lives."
The funding round was led by SFC Capital and OION to prepare the medical device startup for patient trials.
