Imperial College London spinout OSSTEC has secured £1.2m in a seed funding round to advance its smart bone implants towards clinical trials. The investment was led by SFC Capital and OION, with participation from Science Angel Syndicate, Parkwalk Advisors, Embryo Ventures, and Imperial Enterprise Lab. The company will use the capital to complete regulatory testing and develop prototype implants for upcoming human studies. Founded on mechanical engineering research from Imperial College, OSSTEC uses 3D printing technology to manufacture porous titanium structures designed to integrate naturally with living bone.
