The Bristol-based biotech start-up has closed its pre-seed round ahead of commercial production and launch.
"There is so much biological information that could enable early intervention for healthcare, but no route to clear access. The menstrual cycle is a non-invasive route to giving our users better health data for better health outcomes,. Many health conditions are difficult for researchers to analyse at the moment because they require invasive testing or regular monitoring which is inconvenient, time-intensive and often uncomfortable. Emm has the potential to do this in a practical, painless way."
The financing round was backed by Maven Capital Partners, YFM Equity Partners, Triple Point Ventures, and regional funds to support US growth.
"Drug discovery is so exciting right now, as there are just so many incredible companies working on remarkable new therapeutics. Equally, we are at a time where there is a stupendous amount of untapped evidence, like cause-and-effect, sat dark and subsequently unused by these same companies. Our mission at Biorelate is to capture this untapped data and help them make sense of it. With this improved understanding we are empowering these companies to make better decisions and speed up the drug discovery process."
The funding round was led by abrdn and will support platform development and international expansion.
"We are the pre-eminent platform business using next-generation graph technology and network science to drive the Bioeconomy. We are seeking to support our enterprise customers as they strive to achieve more sustainable and impact-orientated innovation outcomes. The current scale-up funding will enable us to accelerate the Bioeconomy through the digital reinvention of science."
The financing round was led by BGF and Parkwalk Advisors to support platform expansion and team growth.
"These are incredibly exciting times for the genomics community and we are proud to pioneer the advent of a new era for patient-centric medicine. We are delighted to have the support of BGF, Parkwalk and our existing investors Bioqube and Jonathan Milner, which provides validation of our technology platform, GenLink3DTM."
