The Bristol-based biotech start-up has closed its pre-seed round ahead of commercial production and launch.
Emm Technology has developed a smart biowearable cup designed to monitor menstrual fluid and cycles. The device uses proprietary sensor technology to provide users with health insights.
Emm Technology has secured £820k in pre-seed funding to advance its biowearable menstrual health technology. The biotech start-up is currently conducting beta testing as it prepares for full production and commercial launch. The capital supports the ongoing development of its smart cup, which integrates sensor technology to track cycle patterns and biomarkers.
From the founder
"There is so much biological information that could enable early intervention for healthcare, but no route to clear access. The menstrual cycle is a non-invasive route to giving our users better health data for better health outcomes,. Many health conditions are difficult for researchers to analyse at the moment because they require invasive testing or regular monitoring which is inconvenient, time-intensive and often uncomfortable. Emm has the potential to do this in a practical, painless way."
